Avenues – Messy Church

Avenues – Violin Tuition

Tuesdays 4.15 – 5.00pm. The Avenues, Hull

Discover the Violin! Join a 6-week introductory course for children aged 3-12 to discover this wonderful musical instrument! Learn core musical skills, start to read music, and inspire a lifelong musical journey. No instrument necessary – it’s a great way to find out if your child is ready to start regular lessons.

Beverley – Family Cafe Hour at Toll Gavel

Beverley – Little Bunny Bakers

Little Bunny Bakers is a cookery school, suitable for children aged 2 1/2 upwards! We run weekly classes, holiday workshops, birthday parties and special events. During the weekly classes, children develop key cookery skills, learn essential life skills of listening, interacting with others and taking turns and make a sweet or savoury dish to take home and share at the end of the class based on the theme for the term. We stop for a drink and snack and then we take part in a fun activity from ‘The Magic Box’ which might be a craft or game. We come together to cook and have fun around the kitchen table! All equipment, aprons and ingredients for the session is provided, as well as a take-home box to re-use and a weekly recipe card.

Come along for a trial to see what it all about! Classes held in Molescroft, Beverley for Little Bakers (2 1/2 to 5 years old) and (4 – 11 years old), on:

  • Tuesdays: 10am – 11.10am and 1.30pm – 2.40pm Little Bakers, 4 pm – 5pm Bigger Bakers
  • Fridays: 9.10am- 10.20am and 11.20pm- 12.30pm Little Bakers, 4.15pm- 5.25pm Mixed Bakers (3 to 11 years old)

Spaces must be booked in advance. Little Bakers will need to have a handy adult helper with them whilst Bigger Bakers are welcome to have a go by themselves.

Beverley Minster – Time Out Playgroup & Messy Church

  • Time Out Playgroup: 10.00-11.30am. Weekly group for pre-school children (from birth upwards) and their carers. We have toys, crafts, snacks and drink, and finish with song time. There is no need to book, please just come along when you can.

City Centre – Gravity Trampoline Park Disability Sessions

Gravity, St Stephens, Hull. Disability sessions run 1.00 – 2.00 and 4.30 – 5.30.

Trampolining has been shown to help people with a wide range of sensory, developmental and physical disabilities. Our tailored Disability Sessions offer a completely dedicated yet fun environment with sensory engagement in mind, offering therapeutic exercise to people which have a wide variety of disabilities and additional needs – Reduced Sound and Lighting, Sensory Tents and Apparatus, Dedicated, Fun Environment. There is also a range of specialist equipment available for use during classes such as sensory tents and balls.

Sessions are £10 for two bouncers (bouncer and carer) without socks, or £12 including socks. This is inclusive of a hot drink in our café bar after your bounce! Book Online or by Phone on 01482 231707.

Driffield – East Riding Youth Brass Band

Performing Arts Centre of Driffield School.

East Riding Youth Brass Band have places available for complete beginners in their junior section. Membership of the band is FREE, and instrument hire is also free to members. Rehearsals are usually fortnightly on Saturdays 9.45 – 10.30. The senior band would also like to hear from existing brass & percussion players who want experience in a brass band. They accept players up to 21 years of age, who are still in education. (They also welcome support from adult members.) The senior section meets fortnightly from 10.00 – 12.00.

Craft and creative sessions for children from 0 to 11 years. Baby classes run monthly, and toddler classes weekly on Fridays. Children’s classes for 5-11 years run on Wednesdays and Thursdays, at various location in the Driffield area.  The Creation Station also run parties across the East Riding.

Family Fit and Fun is an outdoors physical activity session for adults and parents with children aged 8+.

Hull’s Ice Arena has lots of different skating sessions including:

  • Family skating (family tickets available)

  • Disco Skate Skating sessions every Friday and Saturday evening with the latest chart tunes played by our resident DJ.
  • Figure Club For competent skaters who would like to learn how to figure skate. Available to all adult and junior skaters.
  • Ice Hockey Training (beginners Under 10’s) To take part you must be a competent skater – be able to go forwards, backwards and be able to stop.

Pickering Road – Peter Pan Junior Parkrun

9.00. Peter Pan Park (behind Costello), Pickering Road, Hull. Park at the Pickering Road end of the park, where Warners gym is.

Peter Pan junior parkrun and is held every Sunday and is 2km in length, ideal for children to do (and their grown ups). Participants need to register with parkrun first here and print off their barcode (free and takes only a couple of minutes). Then simply turn up at the event with the barcode.

‘First timers talk’ at 8.55am where we go through what is involved and describe the route. Next is a pre-run briefing for everyone in case there are any safety messages about the course, then a warm up, then 2 laps of the course. Children can run on their own or with a grown up, marshals are carefully placed around the course so children are always in sight of a marshal and it’s safe. Children go through the finish funnel and get a finish token and can see their results on their website. Families are then encouraged to go to the Peloton Cafe in the park afterwards, building our community. All run by volunteers.


RoLA DSCo – Bridlington & Beverley

All ages welcome, age range is based upon skate size, smallest is child size 6J (fits approximately 4 years old) up to an adult size 11. £5 per session. Victoria Dock – Special Stars Foundation, Sunday Club

Sunday Club is a sensory play session for children and young people with disabilities, and their families or carers. There is always lots to do, we have a wide range of sensory toys and equipment, an arts and crafts table, soft play, a games room with 5 iPads and 5 2DS’s, plus a huge amount of games, refreshments and lots more!

This is a drop in session, so there is no need to book, just turn up, enjoy a drink and a cake, have some fun and connect with other families raising a disabled child/young person. We have disabled toilet facilities and a separate private area with a large cushioned change mat for any parents/carers to use if they need to change their child/young person’s pads. We also have a specialist book lending library and a catalogue of leaflets from local and national services and charities.
Registration is simple and completely free, pick up a form at one of our sessions.
