north star sanction forest school, picture of children around campfireNestled deep in the woodlands in Sancton, near Market Weighton, North Star Club Forest School is a place where children lead the play and learning happens naturally. With a range of Forest School play sessions happening throughout the week and special events, there are plenty of ways you can enjoy some family fun in the forest this summer.

North Star Club Forest School offers morning and afternoon play sessions during the week, from 10-12.30 and 3pm-5.30pm. £8 per child, adults go free! Booking online in advance here is preferred but you can also just turn up! Cash or card payments are taken on arrival when you sign-in.

Momma Nature is a parent and baby group exploring nature as a sensory wonderland from North Star Forest School. It runs on Mondays, from 10-12.30. Suitable for newborns and babies up to the age of 2. £8 per person. Follow @momma.nature.club to find out more.

Every Thursday, there is a Forest School session for home educated families from 10-12.30. Children will develop their independence, risk awareness, confidence and resilience throughout our sessions, but most of all have FUN!

Sva Art Club, parent and child art class in cottingham Discover the joy of co-creating with your child in Cottingham’s newest art club, led by the passionate Krishna from Svā – Art of the Soul. For children age 5+ and their parents/carers.

She brings a wealth of experience and a nurturing approach, guiding you through various techniques and mediums. You can create wonderful keepsakes while you both discover your unique artistic voice in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Brownies – 14th Hull (St. John Newland)

Brownies welcomes all girls from 7 to 10 years old for nonstop fun, learning and adventure.
Brownies follow Girlguiding UK’s programme. In unit meetings, they do fun activities, play games and earn skills builder badges, all while being supported by trained volunteers. Girls can earn skills builder badges in themes such as camping, communication and first aid.

Coco Coders: Coding Lessons for Kids

Fun & engaging coding lessons for children aged 6-12 years, taught online, after school.

Driffield – East Riding Youth Brass Band

East Riding Youth Brass Band have places available for complete beginners in their junior section. Membership of the band is FREE, and instrument hire is also free to members. Rehearsals are usually fortnightly on Saturdays 9.45 – 10.30 at Performing Arts Centre of Driffield School. The senior band would also like to hear from existing brass & percussion players who want experience in a brass band. They accept players up to 21 years of age, who are still in education. (They also welcome support from adult members.) The senior section meets fortnightly from 10.00 – 12.00.

Guitar Lessons with RJS Music

Learn to play guitar! Guitar lessons for children of all ages and abilities (lessons for adults too if parents want a new hobby!).

Brownies – 7th Hessle (St James)

Thursdays 5.30 – 7.00. All Saint’s Church, Hessle. We are a new pack with a very experienced Brown Owl, Chantelle. Our second leader is Louise Dell who has been a dance teacher for nearly 30 years. Our pack is structured around what our girls want to do. They help plan the meetings around the Brownie program. The girls come from lots of different schools. They are all age 7-9 yrs old. Little Bunny Bakers, School Aged Baking Class

School Aged Baking Classes for Bakers aged 4 to 11! Tuesdays and Fridays in Molescroft.

Do you have a keen Baker in the house who LOVES to get creative and make delicious sweet and savoury bakes? Would you like them to enjoy baking and cooking but without the mess and stress at home? Would you like them to build their skills in the kitchen and among their peers while having fun? Then bring them along to Little Bunny Bakers- our colourful and creative baking school for children! Help your Baker build their kitchen confidence, baking skills and have fun with others in this social and tasty weekly class!

Each class includes a drink and snack, as well as an activity from The Magic Box while everything bakes. All ingredients are provided for each session, all you need to bring is yourself and your Baker and a box to take your goodies home in.

Singing with Zoe

Do you know a child who loves to sing and perform? Singing With Zoe offers weekly singing classes and holiday workshops based in Hessle, East Yorkshire for children and young people.

Our Singing Club (for 7-14 years) runs every Thursday in term-time 5.30pm at Hessle Methodist Church Hall and is perfect for children of all singing abilities. Students improve their vocal techniques through a range of pop and musical theatre style songs.

The Edge Aerial Adventure, Bridlington

The Game Shack, Beverley

The Game Shack is a tabletop gaming cafe where all the family can enjoy playing a wide variety of games. We have regular board games, card games and our own unique games. The friendly staff are on hand to explain all the rules and there’s also cheap drinks and snacks to buy.

£3 per person to play for up to 3hrs. Most suits for ages 6+. Open 1-4pm Saturday and Sunday and 6-9pm Thursday and Fridays. You can also bring your 4 legged family member as they are dog friendly!

We are an independent music school focusing on learning to read, write and play music through high quality singing, games and activities. Taught by a professional musician and qualified teacher. Thread and Press – Creative Classes

Thread and Press CIC offer fun, creative sessions for 8-16 years olds in the East Riding of Yorkshire and York area.

We provide exciting and creative classes for children. Sessions include screen-printing, sewing, embroidery, dress-making, clay, painting, drawing and craft. Sessions run throughout the year, on either weekend daytimes or school holidays. Sessions are bookable individually or can be booked in blocks (for a 10% discount). We also offer a 10% sibling discount too.
