The first ever Hull & East Riding Mumbler Awards are to celebrate and recognise the best of what we have to do locally for families. I built the Mumbler website 5 years ago to list and share all things to do in our area for babies, children and families and, during those 5 years, I have been incredibly impressed by how much there is to do across East Yorkshire as a family. We have a fantastic selection of local attractions, places to go, classes, clubs, activities and family events. To celebrate all of them and to recognise the best I decided to hold the Mumbler Awards.
There are 8 award categories and all were open to public nominations; thousands of places to go and things to do were nominated and the 5 with the most nominations in each category became the finalists. In February 2020 there was a public vote on the finalists to find the winners, over 16,000 votes were cast so thank you to everyone who took part. The winners were due to be announced at an awards ceremony on 20th March 2020 but this was actually the day that Boris announced lockdown! So no the results have been revealed online (on Friday 5th June). Categories and finalists are:
