Hull and the East Riding is a fantastic place to raise a family and there is so much going on for parents, babies and children. I’m a local mum to an energetic 5 year old boy and a cheeky 20 month old girl. Over the past few years I’ve tried a few playgroups and classes and have been to a lot of attractions and family events in the area. I’ve been so impressed by what I’ve found and feel genuinely lucky to be raising a family in this area, so I have created this website to share everything.
Before having my children I had no idea what there was to do in Hull and the East Riding for babies and children. I remember well the first few months of having a new baby and thinking ‘What on earth do I do with him today?! Where can I take him and where can I meet other mums in my situation?’ Now he’s started school I am currently thinking ‘What shall I do with him at the weekend? What can I do with him and my toddler during the school holidays?’. I wanted to compile one place where everything to do was listed, from playgroups and classes to local days out and special events, somewhere that other parents (and grandparents and carers) could go to find things to do with their little ones. And so the Hull & East Riding Mumbler website was born.
I’ve added new sections to the website as its evolved to cover other useful things for parents such as local Kids Party providers, places to eat out with children that have been recommended, offers from local businesses and some fitness classes and clubs that are designed for mums (sorry dads I don’t have a Dad’s Fitness section yet!). There is also a facebook page and Twitter with regular updates on and a monthly newsletter that is a roundup of activities and events and highlights from the website, you can sign up for it here.
I’m sure that there are activities missing so please contact me here if you run a playgroup, class, attraction or event that you would like to be added or if you’re a parent that been to something that you would like to share.
I hope you find the website useful!
