The council’s countryside access team has decided to make the most of the nice weather and the area’s outstanding natural scenery, with events arranged at various locations. The first event is a spring bird watch at Oakhill Nature Reserve, near Goole, from 9.30-11.30am. Accompanied by a local bird watch guide from Yorkshire Coast Nature. This walk should include astonishing view of marsh harriers overhead, and if you’re lucky maybe you will hear the sound of turtle doves calling. All are welcome and are asked to bring binoculars for the full experience. The event is free, but booking is essential, click ‘venue’ then select Sports Play and Countryside Events.
