Upcycled Sealife at Treasure House

August 9, 2018

Treasure House, Champney Road, Beverley.

Workshops for Children with Artist Michelle Reader, at 10am – 12.30pm or 1.30pm – 4.00pm.

Artist Michelle Reader not only has an interest in wildlife, but she can transform plastic and other waste materials, that we daily discard, into the most amazing sculptures.

Make your own colourful fish or aquatic wildlife with Michelle, using cleverly upcycled everyday plastic waste. Inspired by the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition these fabulous sculptures will help to raise awareness of the damage that plastics can do to the world’s underwater ecosystems.

For children and young people aged 5 -16. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or legal guardian during the workshop. Michelle will support children and young people to make a variety of artworks according to age and ability.

Participants should bring along some ‘clean’ plastic waste materials to share, such as bottles, bottle lids, cups, cutlery, straws, detergent bottle lids etc. Other materials will be provided.

£12 per child/young person. No charge for adults accompanying under 8’s.

Places limited, booking essential – (01482) 392699
