New Music Biennial – Family Pop Ups

New Music Biennial is the latest event from Absolutely Cultured. Event runs 12th-14th July bringing new music sounds from across the UK. On the 13th July there are some family, free music events will popping up across Hull city centre –

Albemarle Music Centre – 12:30 & 14:00. Family gamelan workshops with Southbank musician John Pawson. Free but ticketed, book here.

Humber Street –

  • 12:30 & 14:00 – Pop up gamelan performance by Gamelan Sekar Petak (University of York)
  • 13:30 & 14:30 – Pop up choir performance (Hull Barbershop Society)
  • 14:00 & 14:45 – Indonesian Dancers take to Humber Street

Hull Land Train – 12:00 & 14:00. Wind quintet performing on the back of the Hull Land Train, starting at City Hall. Free to watch, tickets for the land train paid on arrival. (New International Chamber Ensemble)

Princes Quay Shopping Centre –

  • 11:30 & 13:00 – Cello quartet playing selected programme (The Four Cellists of the Hypocalypse/Hull Chamber Music)
  • 12:00, 13:00 & 14:00 – Pop up gamelan performed by Absolutely Cultured volunteers

Various locations –

National Youth Choir of Great Britain performing a selection of songs – 11:00 at Trinity Market and 16:15 at Hull Paragon Station.

Human Jukebox, Request a song from an a capella jukebox to perform – 11:45 at Hull Paragon Interchange, 13:15 at Trinity Market, 12:30 & 14:30 at Princes Quay.
