Hull’s beloved Freedom Festival from 28 August to 1 September 2024. Taking place around Hull City Centre and the Marina, with family-friendly events that will captivate audiences of all ages. While the entire festival is accessible to families without age restrictions, these events are specifically aimed at babies, children and families:
- Univers by Engruna Theatre. Perfect for babies and young children, Univers is a poetic and unique sensory experience, with music and visuals to delight everyone. This show features music and visuals that will delight the whole family, at Hull Truck Theatre. Tickets £5.
- Bob Marley for Babies by La Petita Malumaluga. Get your babies dancing to the greatest hits of Bob Marley, your little ones are encouraged to get up and join in the fun. It’s a 360° experience, celebrating one of the biggest Jamaican cultural icons of the 20th Century! Suitable for ages 0-2, at Hull Truck Theatre. Tickets £5.
- Pram People by Polyglot Theatre. A celebration of community, Pram People rolls out the red carpet for every pram, big or small. Directed by voices through a pair of headphones, secret messages, and other participants, pram users will come together to create a hilarious, serious and surprisingly moving performance. This colourful spectacle will bring Trinity Square to life.
- Essential Playworks by The Herd. Kids and grown-ups alike can help “fix” the city through play in this free, interactive experience from the creators of Fast Food Megaverse. FREE.
- Plink & Boo by Can’t Sit Still. A topsy-turvy circus theatre adventure perfect for ages 2-6 and their grown-ups. This free show uses acrobatics, live music, and Sign Supported English. FREE.
