Superhero Day – Support Youth Mental Health.
1 in 10 children suffer with a diagnosable mental health condition…that’s roughly 3 per classroom. Cash For Kids are excited to announce that funds raised from this year’s Superhero Day will be going towards Health Stars Impact Appeal.
In Autumn of this year, a new youth mental health inpatient facility will be opening in Hull, servicing Hull, East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. This will be the only facility of its kind in our region. Currently children requiring this sort of care have to go as far as Wales to receive the treatment they need. This centre is being built so we are able to bring our children home. To give them the care they need on their doorstep, to speed their recovery and get them back to their families.
Some children can be in these facilities for several months, and being in a hospital environment for any length of time can be scary. The project aims to make this unit more homely and less daunting, offering state of the art enhancements giving these children access to new forms of therapy to aid recovery.
Cash for Kids want to help by raising £25,000 to fund a music studio, which will provide much needed music therapy as well as offering a space to relax and be creative at what must be scary and worrying time for these children and their families.
