Burton Constable Countryside Day

Burton Constable, near Skirlaugh.

A day of fun and discovery in the grounds and parkland at Burton Constable Hall for families of all ages.

Pond Dipping & Mini Beast Safaris with Natural England: 11am – 4pm

Join the team from Natural England for some pond dipping and be a fresh water detective as they look for real life dragons and damsels in life below the water’s surface or join us on one of our hourly mini-best safari’s taking place throughout the day from 11am until 4pm. They’ll be looking for all nature of mini-beasts as we explore the grounds of the estate.

Other activities on the day include:

Story Telling 11.30am – 12.00pm: Orangery Lawn (weather dependant, we will move into the Brewhouse if it rains!)

Children’s Craft Activities 1.00pm – 3.00pm: Indoor Riding School

Have-a-go Archery* 11.00am – 4.00pm: Become an archer for the day and take aim with expert tuition from the Burton Constable Bowmen – separate charge of £1 for 8 arrows for this activity. Find them on the front lawn of the Hall.

Parkland Animal Trail 11.00am – 5.00pm: Ideal for those little legs that don’t want to travel so far! Look for the countryside animals hiding in the grass, trees and hedges around the hall, orangery and stables.

Wildlife Sculpture Trail & Parkland Waymarker Trail 11.00am – 5.00pm.: Each trail takes you on a 45 minute journey of discovery around the grounds and parkland of Burton Constable Hall. Suitable for families of all ages.

Event Activities £1 per child 3yrs – 18yrs (2yrs and under free) excludes Have-a-go Archery*

Normal admission charges apply for the Hall and Grounds
