HullBID heads to Fruit Market with Yum! Festival of Food & Drink.
Friday 5 August and Saturday 6 August 2022 sees the return of the ever-popular FREE, two-day food festival in Hull, which aims to highlight some of the fantastic local producers we have in the area, as well as a global street food selection.
The Yum! Festival, which runs from 11am until 7pm, will have a designated Kids’ Zone featuring roundabouts, bath bomb making from Lush, candy floss sculptures, magic shows and more. Adults, meanwhile, can laugh along to live comedy at Humber Street Gallery on the Friday evening, presented by George Street based The Comedy Lounge.
The Good Things Market – a contemporary craft and design market held at the Fruit Market – will be open on both days with its regular traders being joined by other businesses from across the city centre including Bad Wolf Gaming, Samsara and Watt2Wear.
Bars, restaurants and other businesses in the Fruit Market are gearing up to greet the crowds.
The kids’ zone is sponsored by St Stephen’s, with the festival as a whole sponsored by the Business and Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC).
Kathryn Shillito, HullBID Executive Director, said: “The Yum! Festival is already generating great excitement among people who will never forget the variety and quality served up in previous years by food and drink businesses from the city centre and further afield. As ever we’re expecting the unexpected – regular exhibitors always bring something new to Hull Street Food Nights and to the Yum! Festival and there will also be some first-timers tempting our tastebuds with a few surprises.”
