The Balloon Tree – Chef

The Balloon Tree is a local independent business which prides itself on employing those from the local community.

We are seeking a Chef to join our kitchen team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for work-life balance with daytime shifts only, allowing you to enjoy your evenings. This is a full-time job role with 40 hours per week available. Weekend availability is a must, but weekend hours are split fairly between our team.
As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in serving our seasonal and locally sourced menu, as a crucial member of our kitchen team you will maintain the high standards of cleanliness and organisation within our kitchen, assisting in meal preparation, maintain food safety standards, and supporting the front of house staff. Skills:

• Prior experience in a kitchen or restaurant is necessary.
• Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food safety standards.
• Reliable, professional, and able to maintain a high standard of work.
• A driving license is preferred, as we are located just outside of York. We are on a bus route, so exceptions may be made for the right candidate.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour. Expected hours: 40 per week
