This free, annual challenge encourages children aged 4-11 to keep reading during the summer holidays. This year’s theme is about games and sports, delivered in partnership with the Youth Sports Trust. Participants will join the fictional team (and their animal mascots) as they use their skills to weave their way through a summer obstacle course. Register to take part at your local library from 8th July – all participants get a free poster, stickers and incentives and them get reading.
The East Riding Summer Reading Challenge Mini-Read: a series of storytimes designed for children under 4 years old. Older children can also attend, especially if they have a younger sibling taking part. You get your own special collector’s folder and stickers to collect each week. Join us to complete the mini-read to win a gold medal sticker and certificate. Stories include Spinderella, Leilong’s Tool, Jump for the Stars, Luna Loves to Dance, The Burpee Bears, Dinos Don’t Give Up. No need to book, just drop in.
