National Breastfeeding Helpline: 0300 1000 212. The National Breastfeeding Helpline has been in operation since 2008. It is run in partnership between the Breastfeeding Network (BfN) and the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM). The helpline is open 365 days a year from 9.30am-9.30pm on 0300 100 0212.
All calls are answered by volunteers. The volunteers are all mums who have breastfed at least one baby. They receive a high level of initial training, plus ongoing support, supervision and regular training updates and supervision from BfN and ABM. The volunteers provide non-judgemental, evidence based, independent, mother centred, confidential breastfeeding support and information to anyone who needs it. Support is offered in English, and there are Welsh and Polish language options on the same number.
