Solemother is a new platform which enables mums to come together and organise themselves to get active, stay safe and be social. Through Solemother mums can meet up and exercise together and access a support network to help them stay motivated, get tips and meet new friends. Solemother aims to promote well being, combat loneliness, bring communities together and help women maintain good mental and physical health.

Emma Richardson – One-to-One Ante & Post Natal Pilates

Emma specialises in providing ante and post-natal exercise as a one-to-one in your own home.  Emma has 23 years’ experience teaching exercise and 13 teaching Pilates and personal training, she has a Level 3 qualification in Ante and Post Natal Exercise and has trained midwives about pre and post-natal exercise.

She provides one-to-one training across West Hull and the West Hull Villages during the daytime. Alternatively if she also runs Pilates classes suitable for anyone in the evenings at Tower Hill Methodist Church in Hessle.

Fitness Pilates

Get those yummy mummy tummy’s back with Fitness Pilates!

Improve fitness, flexibility, strength, coordination, relaxation and best of all you can get the beach body abdominal you’ve always wanted! If you have back or joint problems this is also the class for you.

Classes are run by Louisa Ingleson at Movement2Music, a fully qualified fitness instructor and weight management consultant. £4.50 pay as you go or £20 for 6 weeks. Classes held on Mondays 7-8pm at Wawne Village Hall and Wednesdays 7-8pm at Dunswell Sports Hall. Louisa also offers one to one sessions in your own home or a venue of your choice.

Powerhooping Classes

Powerhooping is the latest fitness craze! It’s like hoola-hooping but with a weighted hoop that gives you lots of core strength, great abs and is a lot of fun to do. Even if you couldn’t hoop as a child you will be able to Powerhoop as it is weighted and uses a different technique. The classes are run by Jenny Platt, an experienced fitness instructor and the only Powerhooping instructor in East Yorkshire.

There are new classes now in South Cave, all ages (over 16) and abilities welcome –

  • Wednesday at the South Cave Sports Centre 7.15pm – 8pm.
  • Wednesdays at the WI Hall, 9.30 – 10.15. If you have children in buggies they are welcome to watch. New members can come along 9.00-9.30 for a free trial (when there are enough new starters to run one).

Free trial sessions can also be arranged at another location and venue for a group wishing to try it.
