Sling fit mama is a class combining fitness, toning and strength, it will help to strengthen all the muscles weakened by pregnancy and childbirth. The classes are carefully structured to have your baby in a sling throughout the duration, so it is great for bonding with baby and stealing a quick kiss.
There are obviously no nursery fees or guilt of leaving your baby… you can actually do something for YOU that benefits you both. Your teacher is also a baby wearing peer support worker, so is on hand to help with any sling needs.

The Teaming up for Health partnership is working with Rugby League Cares and Sport England to bring a new exciting project called Back Onside into Hull. Back Onside provides the opportunity for men to train with past and current players to build strength, stamina and fitness with other likeminded men. The sessions are delivered in series of 10 weeks.
Jason Netherton will be leading the sessions taking place at KCOM Craven Park. There are two sessions per week taking place at KCOM Craven Park; Tuesday at 5pm and Wednesday at 6.30pm starting in the New Year. The first sessions will be on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th January. East Riding Leisure Beverley’s Tone Zone gym reopened in August 2019 following a £350,000 refurbishment. The refurbishment means that the facility can offer brand new, state of the art equipment, which includes the replacement of all the existing cardiovascular and resistance equipment with the latest Matrix models, featuring internet capability; fit touch technology; and updated virtual active videos.
The Tone Zone gym was also redecorated and had new functional training equipment installed. Customers can take advantage of several membership packages to choose from, starting from just £23 per month which includes access to all nine centres across the East Riding, 8 Tone Zone Gyms, 8 pools and over 1000 exercise classes a week (casual use is welcome too).
Memberships include access to the HealthPlus programme and the state of the art Boditrax scans. Peter Pan junior parkrun and is held every Sunday and is 2km in length, ideal for children to do (and their grown ups). Participants need to register with parkrun first here and print off their barcode (free and takes only a couple of minutes). Then simply turn up at the event with the barcode.
‘First timers talk’ at 8.55am where we go through what is involved and describe the route. Next is a pre-run briefing for everyone in case there are any safety messages about the course, then a warm up, then 2 laps of the course. Children can run on their own or with a grown up, marshals are carefully placed around the course so children are always in sight of a marshal and it’s safe. Children go through the finish funnel and get a finish token and can see their results on their website. Families are then encouraged to go to the Peloton Cafe in the park afterwards, building our community. All run by volunteers.
Powerhooping is the latest fitness craze! It’s like hoola-hooping but with a weighted hoop that gives you lots of core strength, great abs and is a lot of fun to do. Even if you couldn’t hoop as a child you will be able to Powerhoop as it is weighted and uses a different technique. The classes are run by Jenny Platt, an experienced fitness instructor and the only Powerhooping instructor in East Yorkshire.
