The Edge is handily located on the way in to Bridlington at South Cliff Holiday Park. You can park at the large park and ride car park on the cliff top and walk back to it. The first thing that struck us as we approached it was the sheer size, it is enormous! We’ve done a few high ropes courses over the years but this was the biggest we’ve seen.
There’s a lower height section to do first, then if you’re feeling brave a higher course too. It took around 1 hour 20 minutes for my two children to do both courses.
On arrival you check in and are harnessed up, then can go up to start the course as soon as you’re ready (you don’t have to wait until all people on your time slot are there and ready which is a huge bonus). There are lots of unique obstacles to tackle on the way around and both courses end with a zip wire back down which was a big hit.
I really liked that spectators can watch all of it easily, we could walk around below them on every challenge. My kids are old enough to go up on their own; I have done my share of these courses in the past when they were smaller but I was a bit jealous that I’d agreed to stay below to take the pictures and mind the puppy as it looked great. There were benches to sit on and a food kiosk from Bridlington Spa which had good coffees and snacks. It was all dog friendly too and we could walk the puppy around the edge of the course too.
My kids both absolutely loved it. My 14 year old hasn’t wanted to do anything this school holiday but was genuinely looking forward to this and came off buzzing. My 10 year old wants to go again already. Finding things for them to both do as they get older is becoming really hard but this was a big hit with both of them. As a parent I was really impressed by all of it – the staff were very helpful, it felt very safe – and it made a really good fun, memorable day out for our family.
The location of The Edge is ideal; we followed our visit by then walking down to the beach and along South Shore into Bridlington harbour. We got the land train back from the Spa, which is also dog friendly and was a huge hit with our puppy.
