Stampin up run card making classes in Welton and at home parties locally, they also sell crafting products. It’s a great way to learn to be more crafty and make your own cards for special occasions. Something for the grown-ups but also something you can share with your kids at home.
Hannah from Beverley: ‘Fitmums & Friends is a great way to get back in shape after a baby, they do group runs led by a leader around various parts of Beverley. It’s a very friendly, welcoming group that made me feel at ease and to run at my pace. I’ve made some great friends too and we also now get together for other social events, I’m even in the fitmums choir!’
Fitmums also run session in Cottingham, Boothferry, East Hull, Hedon and Withernsea as well as Beverley for adults. They also have Fitmums & Friends Juniors for children from 5. Find all the info on their website here.
We are very lucky in Hull to have so many museums aimed at or suitable for children, and they’re all free entry. My favourite is Streetlife and we also like Hull & East Riding Museum next door in the Museums Quarter. Streetlife also have a regular weekly toddler morning, Transport Tots. Look out for great, free events in the Museums Quarter too. Every school holiday there are extra free activities and there are some great annual events such as Big Bus Day and The Hanse Festival.
Maritime Museum in Queen Victoria Square is also a good, free day out and often have guest exhibitions. Try combining with a visit to Ferens Art Gallery opposite, they have a dedicated childrens area for playing and creating, and extra childrens activities both in school holidays and term time. Mini Masterpieces is their dedicated under 5s session.
