This year Father’s Day falls on the 16th June 2019. Finding special things to do for Father’s Day can sometimes be quite tricky so here’s a handy guide to the events and activities happening across our area to celebrate Father’s Day –
Mires Beck Nursery near North Cave have a Fathers Day Weekend event, including woodland bug hunt and pond dipping. On 15th and 16th June, free entry.
It’s Hullfest on the 15th and 16th June, large family friendly tribute festival plus kids rides on Bude Field, North Hull.
Bikefest takes place in Beverley on 16th June and as my husband is cycling mad (we have a lot of lycra in our house!) I think is where we’ll be going. It’s a FREE Family Fun Day around Saturday Market with a variety of activities for all ages and abilities from the East Riding Council’s Road Safety team, who’ll be there on the day. You can try out the airbag, cycle on some weird and wonderful bikes, race in the KMX Karts or why not sign up to be taken on a guided family bike ride. More details here.
Sledmere House near Driffield have their Deer Safari. A special opportunity for the whole family to tour the deer park on a tractor and trailer ride and see some of the red deer bred on the estate up close in their natural habitat. Normal admission applies. More details here.
Fort Paull have their Cowboys event running all Father’s day weekend 15th & 16th of June. Dress the Kids up as their Favourite Cowboy and Cowgirl and come and enjoy.
My Daddy Can Dance Father’s Day Special – This is a special Father’s Day dance class run by My Baby Can Dance Hull at The Broadway Scout Hut, Holderness Road. Age 1-4 families 9:45-10:45am & Age 0-1 families 10:45-11:45am. You’ll need to book in advance because places will be limited. RSCPA on Clough Road Hull have One Fun Day, a Paw Fabulous Dog Show and Family Fun Day. There will be a wide range of classes to suit all ages and sizes of dogs and as it’s Father’s Day we have an extra special class to celebrate dogs and their human Daddies. Plus lots of stalls and games to entertain the whole family. From 10am.
Dogs Playpark on Chanterlands Avenue, Hull have The BIG charity dog walk 2019, from 12noon.
The Apollo on Holderness Road Hull have a Street Food Festival from 10am-5pm. A variety of quality foods, bouncy castles, rides, live music and plenty more.
Eden Camp near Malton have an event running all Father’s Day weekend 15th & 16th June 2019 – Fire Service Preservation Group Rally Weekend. A collection of classic fire appliances, pumps and memorabilia on display over the weekend.
Bridlington Seafood Festival is back for 2019, running along the seafront 15th and 16th June 10am-4pm. Between Bridlington Spa and the RNLI Lifeboat Station on South Marine Drive will be cookery demonstrations and food stalls. A range of local maritime organisations will also be present and it will also be a weekend of children’s activities and entertainment beside South Beach.

Scampston Hall, Malton, YO17 8NG – Yorkshire Modified Car Show, 9am-5pm. With hundreds of custom modified cars on display, Stunt Show, and an Outdoor Time Trial Course. T
Harewood House, Leeds, LS17 9LG – The Yorkshire Post Motor Show and Classic Car Rally 2019, 10am-6pm. A family friendly event with a stunt motorcycle display team, a funfair for children, petting farm and street food.
Sewerby Hall, Bridlington, YO15 1EA – AJS & Matchless Owners Club– Vintage and Classic Motorcycles, 12.30-4pm. Come and see a range of classic machines from the bygone age of British Motorcycling.
Castle Howard, York, YO60 7DA – Classic Car Show, 10am-4pm. Set within the grounds of Castle Howard, the Father’s Day Classic Car & Motor Show will feature an exciting display of vintage, classic and modern classic vehicles.
Brodsworth Hall, Brodsworth near Doncaster, DN5 7XJ – Classic Cars for Father’s Day from 11am-5pm. There will be vehicles from all eras, including Austins, Jaguars, Morrises and more.
Swithens Farm, Rothwell, Leeds LS26 0BT – Father’s Day Event, from 15th – 16th June. Every Dad who’s accompanying a child will be treated to a free cup of tea & bun on paying entry into the farm. Over the weekend they also have some Classic cars, truck & automobiles on show.
