Rock Up, St Stephens Centre, Hull
Rock Up is an exciting new indoor leisure experience, an indoor climbing centre that is best described as ‘theme park meets exercise’. There are over 26 different multi-coloured climbs, all differing in their style, ability level and look. This is a climbing adventure that will appeal to all.
Rock Up offers a wide range of additional adventures, from birthday parties to corporate events and from fitness classes to the Rockstars Climbing Club for children. Located in Hull, The Deep is an award-winning aquarium that is home to almost 3,500 fish including green sawfish, sharks and tropical fish. Not forgetting an array of invertebrates, amphibians, turtles and a colony of Gentoo penguins!
Journey through the story of the world’s oceans travelling through a unique blend of spectacular marine life from warm tropical waters to the cold Antarctic seas. . Enjoy the fun and educational interactive and audio-visual presentations on your voyage of discovery.

The Deep has its own café serving a range of homemade hot/cold meals, snacks, drinks and excellent children’s boxes, plus a snack bar that is open in during peak times inside the attraction. There are also indoor and outdoor picnic areas for those who wish to bring their own food.
The Deep is fully accessible for people with disabilities or accessibility requirements and can provide and range of things to help visitors enjoy a more pleasant visit.
Save 10% by booking your tickets on their website before you visit. The Deep also accepts Tesco Days Out vouchers, which form part of the Tesco Clubcard scheme.
Don’t forget to sign up to the Day Plus Pass scheme which allows FREE return visits to The Deep for 12 months (this is included in the normal price of a ticket, T&C’s on their website).

One of the UK’s largest garden centres. It has a great free play area for children, with a pirate ship, sand box, mega slide, climbing frame, zip wire, all on soft fall paving. Animal statues are also throughout the nursery, including an 8ft tall gorilla to sit on, and animated dinosaurs. Also put on special children’s events throughout the year.

Hull’s Ice Arena holds family skating sessions. Skate with Animals every Sunday 10-11am with a range of animal skating aids for children, there is the choice of a Walrus, Penguin and Polar Bear. Children aged under 7 are on a separate section of the ice so they can get confidence with their skating in a safe environment. The sessions cost £5.85 for one child and one adult.

About 1hr 10mins drive from Hull with lots of free parking, Roundhay is a massive park with lots of open space, a lake and playground. Tropical World is across the road and has areas where you can walk amongst the butterflies and birds, a meerkat enclosure, aquarium, reptiles, bats and more. Nice cafe and shop too.

A Mumbler favourite, just over the Humber bridge is this nature reserve (the blue roofed buildings you can see from the bridge). Excellent paths and boardwalks around several lakes with ducks to feed and birds to spot. Paths then go through woods and up onto the river front for great views back to Hull and the bridge. Two good parks are located in the main car park.
Visitor centre has lots going on for children, activities and play area. Cafe within the visitor centre is great, good value kids meals.
