Adventure Play Town Hull

Our vibrant and engaging children’s role play centre is designed to spark creativity and bring dreams to life. With a magical town filled with themed play areas, little adventurers can become fearless astronauts, daring firefighters, brilliant chefs, and much more. We also have a large, spacious cafe area serving great value, high quality drinks and snacks.

Recommended age is babies up to age 7. Open 7 days a week during school holidays, open 6 days a week term time (closed Wednesdays). Play sessions are bookable in 90 minute slots – mid week at 9.30am, 11.30am and 1.30pm, Friday to Sunday at 9.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Large, free car park directly outside the building.

NEW for babies: Play & Weigh sessions, for 0-12 months to weigh your baby and stay for a play. Contact them for next dates.

They also hold children’s parties and run special events.

Boston Park Farm & Tearooms

A traditional working farm with the farm park which allows children to get up close with a wide range of farm animals. You can pet and feed most of the animals and also join in with animal handling sessions.

We have outdoor climbing frames, swings, slides, go-karts, mud kitchens and a bale pyramid to climb. Also inside there is an indoor soft play area which is suitable for children up to 8 years old, an indoor bouncy castle, play kitchen and a large indoor sandpit. Our cafe, serving hot and cold meals is open everyday as well as our brand new outdoor Snack Baa, serving ice creams and other snacks.

Dogs on a short lead are welcome.

Boston Farm Park is open every day from 10am-4pm (until 5pm in summer holidays). Tickets must be booked in advance.

Dalby Forest

A visit to Dalby will uncover many magical things such as The Gruffalo orienteering course,  Zog trail, some of the very best mountain biking trails and endless stunning views. Keep your eyes peeled along the way for our unique sculptures which are dotted throughout the forest, get the adrenaline pumping at Dalby Activity Centre or test your nerve and swing amongst the trees on their Go Ape courses.

If one day leaves you wanting more, extend your forest adventure with a stay at the Forest Holidays cabins.

Dalby Forest is home to an abundance of internationally important wildlife species and is also a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site, where you can experience the magic of seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye. The next Dark Skies Fringe Festival is 25th October – 3rd November 2024. The main Dark Skies Festival celebrates its 10th Anniversary, which will be held on 14th February – 2nd March 2025. Funstation Hull games arcade logoFunstation is located on the leisure terrace inside St Stephens shopping centre, Hull.

The arcade has a huge choice of games to play. You simply buy a pre-loaded card to the value of your choice, and swipe each game to play it (so you can stick to a budget!). Points scored on the games are added to the card, when you have finished playing you can redeem the tokens at the desk for prizes. No need to book, just walk in and play. There is something for everyone this Summer at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre in Doncaster,  the number one place for those seeking fun in the great outdoors!

We host a range of water-based activities on our very own lake, including kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddleboarding. We also have an inflatable Aquapark, which has recently expanded and is now open for bookings. You can also enjoy a swim in our natural lake pool, the newest addition to our growing number of water activities.

For those who prefer to stay dry, you can challenge yourself to reach new heights on our 14-metre-high climbing wall; we have plenty of aerial challenges and obstacle courses for you to complete off the ground. If you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, you can find your thrills at an axe-throwing or archery session. You can learn how to throw axes at a target and how to use a bow safely. Axe-throwing is available to book now. Archery is available to book now at weekends.

All our sessions, both water and land, are taught by experienced instructors in a safe and welcoming environment. For anyone wishing to extend their visit and wake to another exciting day of activities, we have a campsite too. Book here

Beverley Breakout

Beverley Breakout is a family run independent escape room in Beverley. We are extremely passionate about our fun, exciting, challenging, and family friendly escape rooms. We have created a fantastic venue for families looking for a great day out in Hull and East Yorkshire to come and ‘Escape.’ Our rooms:

Bridlington Birds of Prey & Animal Park

Award winning family owned animal park, wide variety of animals to see such as donkeys, alpacas, meerkats, rabbits…and several different kinds of birds, as well as reptiles. There are Meet the Meerkats and Bird of Prey Experiences. There is also a weekly Keeper club for children, allowing them to find out what it’s like to be a Zoo Keeper. Brigg Garden Centre

One of the UK’s largest garden centres. It has a great free play area for children, with a pirate ship, sand box, mega slide, climbing frame, zip wire, all on soft fall paving. Animal statues are also throughout the nursery, including an 8ft tall gorilla to sit on, and animated dinosaurs. Also put on special children’s events throughout the year.

City Cruises York

Take a trip with City Cruises. Our Sightseeing Cruises are fun for ALL the family, you’ll have a great view of the city and our captains will share parts of the history of our ancient city and the immense impact the River Ouse has had on its development!

Or how about being the captain of your very own boat? With our Self-Drive Boats, you’ll receive full instructions on how to operate the boat along with our safety and river rules, whilst life jackets will be provided for children.

Coffee Cake Create – Pottery Studio & Coffeehouse

Coffee Cake Create is an independent pottery and craft studio with a coffeehouse in Market Weighton.  They offer locally roasted coffee, speciality teas, hot chocolate, and cakes and bakes. Pottery painting is optional. There are shelves of blank pottery and paint ready for you to create your very own masterpiece. Also do different crafty workshops regularly.

Dinostar – Hull’s Dinosaur Experience

Visit Dinostar – Hull’s Dinosaur Experience – the exciting, interactive dinosaur museum. A children’s museum with dinosaurs! Highlights include a Tyrannosaurus rex skull, Triceratops bones you can touch and our unique Dinosaur Sound Box. East Hull Community Farm

Community farm in East Hull. Sell seasonal fruit, veg and eggs daily plus gifts and refreshments. Also:

  • We offer a chance to meet and greet our friendly farm animals every Monday 10am-11am and 1pm-2pm. You’ll have the unique experience of getting up close and personal with some of our small animal’s, chicken, guinea pig and a rabbit. There is a small fee of £2.
  • Preschool children sessions every Tuesday and Thursday (term time only) from 930am-10.30am. There is a small fee of £2 per child, payable on the day. We have 12 spaces, so it’s essential to book via [email protected]

East Park Hull

Hull’s largest park, there’s something for everyone – 130 acres of parkland, play areas and animal education centre, at the Pavilion is a cafe and library. For summer splash boat, swans and rowing boat on the lake. Also a small skate park near to Woodford Leisure Centre. Dogs welcome, but restricted in the children’s play areas.

Eden Camp

Living history museum near Malton. Experience the sights, sounds and smells of life on the frontline and Homefront in WW2, set in the grounds of an original World War 2 Prisoner of War Camp. Over 20 different huts to visit and explore. Also a play area, picnic area, café and gift shop on site. Dogs on leads welcome.

Ennerdale Cycle Track

The regions only all weather 1km cycle circuit next to the Ennerdale Leisure Centre, offering a number of loops and straights for all cycling abilities, to help gain confidence and develop cycling skills. Sometimes it’s booked out to a club or school so please call ahead to check it is available for public use.

Open daily at selected times, and sessions must be booked online. Prices are Adult £5 per hour, child & OAP £2.50 per hour, under 5s Free. All age children welcome, must have a helmet on and under 8s need an adult with them aged 16 or over.

Eureka!

An interactive children’s museum approximately 1 hour 20 mins drive from Hull.  A great family day out, lots of interactive, hands on exhibits for children that are fun and educational. Eureka also has the annual pass option – pay once and visit as many times as you like in the following year.  Pre-book tickets online.

Gravity Trampoline Park Hull

Trampoline park located on the top floor of St Stephens (entry outside next to Next or via the car park).

Lots of fun for children and grown ups! A floor of trampolines and bouncy activities. Sessions include Open Jump for all ages, SEN specific sessions, fitness classes. They also hold toddler sessions where only under 5s can bounce (must be over 18 months old), look out for themed toddler sessions!

You can also hold your child’s Birthday Party or special occasion at a Gravity Party.

Gulliver’s Valley Resort

Gulliver’s Valley Resort is one of the UK’s newest theme parks having opened in 2020. Discover rides and attractions designed for children aged 2 to 13, located next to Rother Valley Country Park in South Yorkshire. Hall Farm Park

Large farm with lots of animals, indoor and outdoor play areas, go-karts, crazy golf, tractor rides, woodland walk and much more. They also have a tearoom and gift shop on site. Pre-booking is recommended to guarantee entry to the park.

Hollywood Bowl

Hull’s Hollywood Bowl has 26 lanes to choose from, and there is also a bar and diner on site, as well as an amusement arcade. Family packages are available and they sometimes run themed competitions or family fun weekends. Open daily from 10am. Online booking is recommended but not essential, and a max of 8 players per lane.

Now called Dreamery Gardens at Northwood.

Playdale Farm Park

Lovely family day out at Playdale Farm Park. Lots to do for younger children including farm animal barns, outdoor playground, go karts, indoor soft play area with 4 lane astro slide and a separate toddler area, pedal tractors, adventure fort and rock wall. Climbing: Rockcity has a range of adult and children’s climbing walls. There are 3 bouldering rooms ideal for children from 2 years +. Bouldering allows children (and grown ups) to climb without ropes in a safe area with different rooms to explore. There is a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children (aged 2-13). Waters Edge Nature Reserve and Visitor Centre

A Mumbler favourite, just over the Humber bridge is this nature reserve (the blue roofed buildings you can see from the bridge). Excellent paths and boardwalks around several lakes with ducks to feed and birds to spot. Paths then go through woods and up onto the river front for great views back to Hull and the bridge. Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Fantastic day out for the family, suitable for all ages. Large wildlife enclosures including lions, giraffes, leopards and polar bears. Walk through enclosures to get up close to the animals. NEW dinosaur zone!
