Beetle’s Sensory Den at Little Monkeys on Harpings Road, Hull, is a small room perfect for developing cognitive, motor, language and problem-solving skills. It’s suitable for babies and toddlers and children with SEN. It can be booked on any weekday between 10am and 4pm.
Only people from the same house or in an existing support bubble will be able to book currently. The same rigid Covid Policy is in place as before, with the room disinfected with an anti-viral fogging machine in between each session. Takeaway hot and cold drinks will be available.
Boston Park Farm is a fun day out for all the family! A traditional working farm with the farm park which allows children to get up close with a wide range of farm animals. You can pet and feed most of the animals and also join in with animal handling sessions.
We have outdoor climbing frames, swings, slides, go-karts, mud kitchens and a bale pyramid to climb. Also inside there is an indoor soft play area which is suitable for children up to 8 years old, an indoor bouncy castle, play kitchen and a large indoor sandpit. Our cafe, serving hot and cold meals is open everyday as well as our brand new outdoor Snack Baa, serving ice creams and other snacks.
Dogs on a short lead are welcome.
Dalby Forest, managed by the Forestry England, offers over 8,000 acres of woodland to explore, enjoy and discover. Great play area for children, accessible walking and cycling trails for all. Cafes and bike hire centre. Dalby Activity Centre, Go Ape and Forest Segway is also here. Adderstone Field has the Enchanted Wood and the Gruffalo Trail which are also fantastic for kids. Staindale Lake is great for picnics. £9 per car in summer, £5 in winter.

Northwood Trail, England’s Fairy Sanctuary is a delightful woodland attraction near Stamford Bridge. This unique fairy wood has existed for generations, but only now is opening up for everyone to enjoy.
Enjoy the artefacts and stories of strange woodland creatures and Professor Howlands discoveries in the Fairy Museum. The Trail and Café Bar is “off grid”, producing its own electricity and treating its own waste water.

East Hull Community Farm is a real working farm and open to the public. If you are lucky you may get to see lambs being born in the Springtime or Sheep sheared in June. The farm is set in almost 7 acres of land, most of which is taken up by fields for the animals. There is also a farm shop selling their own produce from the farm (pork, lamb eggs, plants). Admission is free to individuals and families, but there is a small charge for groups.

Trampoline park located on the top floor of St Stephens (entry outside next to Next). Lots of fun for children and grown ups! A floor of trampolines and bouncy activities. Hull’s largest park, there’s something for everyone – you can take a stroll around 130 acres of parkland, brave a ride on our splash boat, take a trip on the swan and rowing boats, visit our animal education centre, ride the land train (weekends only) and visit the new library at the Pavilion and enjoy afternoon tea in our cafe. Plenty of equipment for the children to play on suitable for a good range of ages. You will also find a small skate park here, which you can access from the main road, near to Woodford Leisure Centre.

East Park is located on Holderness Road and this is where the main access for vehicles is located. There are also pedestrian entrances on East Park Avenue, Summergangs Road, James Reckitt Avenue and Holderness Road.

40/45 minute train ride tours of Hull. The Blue Train tours the city centre, old town, the marina and the Deep, then returns to the city centre. The Green Train tours from the cenotaph, to the Minster, then the old town and back to the city centre.

A real factory tour of this local, famous rock producer. Touch, hear, smell, see and taste the secrets of rock and chocolate production. They are a seasonal tourist location and the hours do vary depending on whether it’s the school holidays or term times. (No tours on a weekend).
It is recommended that factory tours are booked in advance to guarantee a place, with a maximum of 6 people per booking.

Play Avenue is a safe and spacious indoor role play setting in Messingham, Scunthorpe designed to fuel imaginations. Lovely family day out at Playdale Farm Park. Lots to do for younger children including farm animal barns, outdoor playground, go karts, indoor soft play area with 4 lane astro slide and a separate toddler area, pedal tractors, adventure fort and rock wall. There are also indoor and outdoor picnic areas, as well as sandpits, so even on a rainy day it’s a great day out. No need to book in advance, just turn up.

Climbing: Rockcity has a range of adult and children’s climbing walls. There are 3 bouldering rooms ideal for children from 2 years +. Bouldering allows children (and grown ups) to climb without ropes in a safe area with different rooms to explore. There is a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children (aged 2-13). Over 14s can use the facilities unsupervised. Pre-booking is essential. Rock-It and Group sessions are currently unavailable.
Skatepark: The Rockcity Skatepark is suitable for ages 13+ and can be viewed from inside Rockcity. Also must be booked in advance.

A Mumbler favourite, just over the Humber bridge is this nature reserve (the blue roofed buildings you can see from the bridge). Excellent paths and boardwalks around several lakes with ducks to feed and birds to spot. Paths then go through woods and up onto the river front for great views back to Hull and the bridge. Two good parks are located in the main car park. Free to walk around. Visitor centre has lots going on for children, activities and play area. Cafe within the visitor centre is great, good value kids meals.
