Approx 1 hours drive from Hull is this great forest to explore. Dalby Forest, managed by the Forestry Commission, offers over 8,000 acres of woodland to explore, enjoy and discover. Lots of tracks for walking and cycling of different abilities.

Also mid-week, term time for tots: Piggy Wiggle! Join us for a very special dance & sing-a-long session with our very own Pickle the pig. Located in Hull, The Deep is an award-winning aquarium that is home to almost 3,500 fish including green sawfish, sharks and tropical fish. Not forgetting an array of invertebrates, amphibians, turtles and a colony of Gentoo penguins!
Journey through the story of the world’s oceans travelling through a unique blend of spectacular marine life from warm tropical waters to the cold Antarctic seas. . Enjoy the fun and educational interactive and audio-visual presentations on your voyage of discovery. The Deep has its own café serving a range of homemade hot/cold meals, snacks, drinks and excellent children’s boxes, plus a snack bar that is open in during peak times inside the attraction. There are also indoor and outdoor picnic areas for those who wish to bring their own food.
The Deep is fully accessible for people with disabilities or accessibility requirements and can provide and range of things to help visitors enjoy a more pleasant visit.
The Deep also run 1 to 1 Experiences all year round: Get hands on and help The Deep crew with a series of day to day activities as well as seeing behind the scenes. Experience days are ideal for youngsters with a passion for the marine world or those looking at getting into a Marine Biology career, but are also perfect for adults with an interest in aquaria. Suitable for participants aged 8 and above.
Save 10% by booking your tickets on their website before you visit. The Deep also accepts Tesco Days Out vouchers, which form part of the Tesco Clubcard scheme. Don’t forget to sign up to the Day Plus Pass scheme which allows FREE return visits to The Deep for 12 months (this is included in the normal price of a ticket, T&C’s on their website).

Tropical World offers a unique opportunity to explore the jungle, desert, nocturnal and aquatic habitats with plants and animals such as crocodiles, butterflies, bats, snakes and a gorgeous family of meerkats!
One of Tropical World’s most loved zones is the butterfly house where you are able to witness first-hand their fascinating life cycle from caterpillar to butterfly. There are between 20 and 30 species of butterflies at Tropical World including Owl Butterflies which can grow up to 20cm – the same size as a large dinner plate!
You can really get up close and personal with all the inhabitants of Tropical World which makes it a fantastic immersive experience. With such a large variety of exciting and exotic animals to discover and learn about, Tropical World is a fun and educational day out for all the family.
Once you have finished exploring all there is on offer at Tropical World, you can grab a bite to eat and drink in the café which has a variety of hot and cold refreshments on offer. With a unique view of the canal gardens, the café is the perfect place to sit back and relax.
William’s Den is an exciting adventure attraction, giving children the chance to connect with nature and get active as they explore a custom designed complex that brings the great outdoors inside. A unique environment, inside and out, where children can play, explore, run, climb, build dens and learn, all in an open, rural and natural setting with a range of facilities tailored to families.

East Hull Community Farm is a real working farm and open to the public. If you are lucky you may get to see lambs being born in the Springtime or Sheep sheared in June. The farm is set in almost 7 acres of land, most of which is taken up by fields for the animals. There is also a farm shop selling their own produce from the farm (pork, lamb eggs, plants). Admission is free to individuals and families, but there is a small charge for groups.

Hull’s largest park, there’s something for everyone – you can take a stroll around 130 acres of parkland, brave a ride on our splash boat, take a trip on the swan and rowing boats, visit our animal education centre, ride the land train (weekends only) and visit the new library at the Pavilion and enjoy afternoon tea in our cafe. Plenty of equipment for the children to play on suitable for a good range of ages. You will also find a small skate park here, which you can access from the main road, near to Woodford Leisure Centre.
East Park is located on Holderness Road and this is where the main access for vehicles is located. There are also pedestrian entrances on East Park Avenue, Summergangs Road, James Reckitt Avenue and Holderness Road.

Hull Explorer – Hop on, Hop Off. Open top bus with guided tours, ride around Hull and see the sights, with the tour guide telling the story of the cities most famous landmarks. Open between May and September.
Tour begins at the Cenotaph opposite Hull Interchange and lasts for approx 80 minutes, but you can hop on and off wherever you like. Oink Oink! Piglets Adventure Farm offers a fantastic family day out, packed with exciting attractions and buckets of fun.
Aptly named an adventure farm, scramble up the Truffles Farmhouse & Barn, tackle the Olym-Pig Assault course, race friends on pedal Go Karts, bounce high on Big Pigs Pillows and jump aboard the Trailer Ride or pink Barrel Train. Not forgetting the Giant Sandpit, Bale Play Baaarn, Crazy Farm Golf and explore the Farmyard Trails.
Get close to farmyard cuties too. You might even see piglets being born in The Piglet Maternity Ward. A Mumbler favourite, just over the Humber bridge is this nature reserve (the blue roofed buildings you can see as from the bridge). Excellent paths and boardwalks around several lakes with ducks to feed and birds to spot. Paths then go through woods and up onto the river front for great views back to Hull and the bridge. Two good parks are located in the main car park. Free to walk around. Visitor centre has lots going on for children, activities and play area. Cafe within the visitor centre is great, good value kids meals.
