Every Wednesday in November, Princes Quay are running FREE fitness sessions. Prices Quay have teamed up with The Village Hotel to bring you regular free fitness classes on the Quayside Level (ground floor). There are 2 to choose from (or you can do both) –
12.00pm – Fitness Yoga class, under the tuition of Sarah Thomas, ending at 12.30pm
12.30pm – Matwork Pilates, under the tuition of Sarah Thomas, ending at 1.00pm
Sessions are free but you need to register on their website herein advance. Please note you will need to complete a form on the day before the session commences.
Anyone can go along and join in, so as I was in the city centre this Wednesday I decided to take a lunch break and do some pilates! I joined the 12.30 session and really enjoyed it. It was a complete break from reality in the middle of the day and also a very good workout. There were a lot of staff from The Village all making sure I was ok and Personal Trainer Sarah who taught the class was fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful (pictured below in the black hoodie alongside staff from the Village). We did some basic pilates moves using mats provided, for each move Sarah always showed alternate versions to make it easier or harder.
I literally just rocked up wearing my work clothes, leggings and a smock dress, and did the workout in those. Another attendee had his jeans on but they were a bit tight and restrictive! Others had on gym leggings and T shirts. It was very informal but a great way to get some exercise during the day. I really struggle to get any exercise done during the day, with the school run, work and then children to run around after so this was a great way to use my lunch break and efficiently! I really did feel like I’d done a workout at the end and I woke up the next day with some pretty sore muscles so I know it has done me some good!
