It is 18 years since Helen and her friendly team first opened the doors of this lovely shoe shop. Specialising in quality footwear for children. They have had the pleasure of fitting children with their first walkers through to their final school shoes. They are even seeing some of their early customers bringing their children!
As an independent shop, the team are involved in the buying process, ensuring Footloose has a fabulous range of brands resulting in a varied collection of shoes that offer something a little bit different.
Helen’s commitment to children’s foot health remains a priority. Measuring and fitting is all part of the service. With pre and first walking shoes being a very special purchase for parents, the team at Footloose feel very privileged to part of this milestone. With shoes available in full and half sizes and various widths you can be assured that the children will not only look fabulous but will be really comfortable.
One of the most important pieces of footwear for children is the school shoe. These are often worn all day 5 days a week. They need to be well fitted, durable and of great quality in order to stand up to the rigours of the school playground or walk to school. Investment in a good shoe can be the most economical solution, as a well fitted shoe will have the correct growing room. Many Footloose customers have their school shoes a whole year, which is impressive. Although available all year round, the new school shoe collection is available from late July, with over 40 different styles to choose from.
The fitting expertise of the team at Footloose is recognised by several foot health specialists. They receive recommendations from both NHS and private podiatrists. If children require orthotic insoles or just some footwear advice someone is always on hand to help.
Footloose is situated in the market place of the small market town of Pocklington which has a great collection of other independent shops and cafes. The shop is easily accessible with free parking outside in the square. If you want to make a day of your visit you could always visit Burnby Hall that is always popular with children.
Although Footloose started its life as a children’s shop, it now has a wonderful ladies department, with some really beautiful shoes.
