Ladies in Pigs are a non-profit organisation who specialise in educating and promoting the work of our British Red Tractor assured farmers and the food they produce.
We have a selection of curriculum mapped activities that we would normally be delivering live into schools like yours and when it is safe to do so again, we will be offering dates on our events page for schools to book a visit from the team.
We are offering you the chance, whilst home schooling your children, to take part in a fun activity which is based around Farmhouse Breakfast week which is being celebrated 20th-27th January 2021.
During this activity we will be promoting Red Tractor foods, which are grown or raised to the highest welfare standards and are regulated, very much like Ofsted regulate schools.
This Friday (29th January) we will be showing our video on how to cook Bacon or Sausage cheesy muffins on Facebook from 9.30am! Just visit our facebook page here any time from 9.30am and you will see the video at the top of our page. You can see a sneak preview of what will be coming in the Friday video on you tube here.
We will also be attaching links to other resource that your children can access.
Here are things you’ll need to get in advance ready to cook-along at home:
12 muffin cases
100g grated cheese
250g of either sausage meat cooked and crumbled or 250g streaky bacon cooked and chopped.
1tsp baking powder.
3 tbsp. vegetable or sunflower oil
If you do not have a muffin tray, you can carefully place the muffin cases in an ovenproof container to bake.
We hope you enjoy cooking along!
You can find out more about the work we do on our website here, including lots of free home education resources to teach your children about where food comes here. Piggy Jigsaw can be played here. Basket game can be played here.
