Humber Street Gallery have 2 new exhibitions celebrating the City of Culture volunteers, both running to the 25th February daily from 10am.
Big Picture is a photographic commission undertaken by Leo Francis in collaboration with Chris Fenton. It celebrates the individual characters and collective personality of the City of Culture volunteers, on display in Gallery 1.
Grains of Scandalous Blue by Julia Vogl in Galleries 2 and 3 features coloured sand housed in hundreds of glass jars, each representing the views and opinions of an individual City of Culture volunteer and a phenomenological colour field that will take over the gallery walls and floor in symbolisation of the emotions and statistics associated with the volunteer programme.
Free, suitable for all ages. Family friendly gallery, also has a nice cafe on the ground floor.
