Black Beard Forest School will be holding a open day from 10am to 5pm on the 29th of February 2020. We will be showcasing our new Reggio Emilia based forest school and explaining how we have encapsulated the early years foundation stage (EYFS) standards for the learning and development into the forest school. We will also explain how we intend to capture the National Curriculum key skills 1-3 within the forest school too.
Black Beard Forest School gives children the opportunity to develop important skills not taught in a classroom environment. They can learn ecological literacy and numeracy, problem-solving, negotiation, resilience, risk, and independence. We do this by facilitating and encouraging the freedom to explore a play-based curriculum.
